Mingus Mountain 6.12.13

My legs were starting to feel like they would shrivel up if I didn't get to using them this week, but it's so hot outside. The only thing I could think of was to gain some elevation and get up to Mingus Mountain! The temperature at the top was warm, but not excruciating. I see cars parked along the road at this same spot all the time and after a little research, I found out that it was actually a trail called Butterfly Spring that leads to all the other trails on the mountain. Kinda cool, and I hadn't done yet, so off I went.

 Start of the trail

Lots of fallen trees up here!

More fallen trees

Power lines going down to where the bike is parked. Too small to see in this picture!

All together it was probably something like four or five miles. After the hike, I decided to take the long way home on the KLR, found a neat road, a cool forest ranger, and some sweet views!
